Govt. Polytechnic for Women conducts admission/ scholarship awareness workshop

 

SRINAGAR : The Govt. Polytechnic for Women, Srinagar today conducted an admission/scholarship awareness workshop with the Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu.

The Mayor on the occasion stressed on the Corporators to disseminate the information about the technical courses offered by the Polytechnics and the scholarships that can be availed during the course of study. This would pave the way for empowerment of students including downtrodden and marginalised communities in our society, he added.

Dr. Shafaqat Ara, Principal of the Institute, welcomed the Mayor and the Corporators for making the program a success and further solicited their help and cooperation in reaching to the deserving students regarding admission in Govt. Polytechnic for Women and other Polytechnics, they being the elected representatives of the populace.

During the workshop, a presentation highlighting the branches of study in the institution, number of vacancies and the scholarships available was presented.

Among others, emphasis was laid upon the Pragati, Saksham and Swanath Scholarship Schemes under the aegis of AICTE in which scholarship up to Rs. 50,000/- per year is admissible.

On the occasion Imtiyaz Ahmad Shaw, Principal Kashmir Govt. Polytechnic, Srinagar addressed the audience regarding the admission process.
