Govt. providing ample employment opportunities to youth: Himachal Pradesh CM

Shimla: Keeping its promise to provide ample employment opportunities to the youth, the state government is persistently working to generate more avenues for them in both government and private sectors for which the necessary training is also being imparted to them. The consistent efforts of the government have shown encouraging results as thousands of youth have been given employment during last few years.

This was stated by Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh during a public meeting in Bathmana-Jabri panchayat of Shimla Rural assembly segment on Saturday late evening after he dedicated various developmental projects worth crores of rupees in the constituency.

The Chief Minister said Himachal Pradesh has high literacy rate and it is not possible to provide employment to all in government sector alone and therefore the government is making endeavours to provide jobs to the youth in private sector as well. The government has launched ambitious Skill Development Scheme besides offering various other schemes with subsidies to enable them to get proper training in vocational courses and starting self-employment ventures.

He said Shimla Rural constituency has witnessed a sea change as far as development is concerned and today it has emerged as one of the most developed assembly segment of the state.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said women empowerment has been another major focus of the state government and soon registered Mahila Mandals of the constituency would be provided Rs. 20,000 each to meet out their small expenses like repair works or purchase of furniture.

He said budgetary provision has made for Animal Husbandry Centre at Jabri on which the work would be started immediately. He said funds would be released for starting work in Community House and renovation of Jabri school. The detailed project report for Gharog-Nalta road in the panchayat has been sent to NABARD for financial assistance and the work would be started immediately after receiving approval. On the demand of the local representatives, the Chief Minister assured to open office of the electricity board at Jabri.

Expressing concern over the malicious propaganda by few political parties just before the assembly elections, he cautioned the people to be aware of try to divide people in the name of religion, region and caste. I have always respected every caste and religion and for ne entire Himachal is one, he said adding that few people try to play with the sentiments of the people for their political advantage, such but this is high time to understand their ploy and work with unity for achieving further progress and development of the state.

President, State Youth Congress Shri Vikramaditya Singh thanked the government for completing the work on most of the developmental projects which were started during last four and a half years back. He said three Industrial Training Institutes (ITI’s) have been opened in the constituency to facilitate the youth in getting technical education and finding employment and self-employment avenues. During the Rozgar Mela organised recently in the constituency, more than 250 youth of the constituency were provided employment in private sector and more youth would be benefitted after getting training from ITI’s, he added.

Pradhan of the Batmana-Jabri panchayat Shri Chandershekhar Sharma and Block Congress General Secretary Shri Gopal Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
