Group of J&K Sarpanches flagged off for exposure tour

 

JAMMU : A group of Sarpanches from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir UT today left for a 7-day exposure tour organized by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.

Under this program, selected Sarpanches from the UT will travel to different states to understand the best practices of the Panchayat system across the country. This will help them understand the current practices being followed to develop and strengthen the Panchayats and gain valuable exposure to the best works and programs being run by different Panchayats.

The first such exposure tour of 42 Sarpanches to Punjab was Flagged off from Panchayati Bhavan today by Rakesh Srangal, Director, Panchayati Raj and Kishore Singh Chib, Director, Rural Development .

Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Srangal said that these exposure trips will help the sarpanches of Jammu & Kashmir provinces to learn from other states and also help in empowering them. This will be a milestone for the growth story of Jammu and Kashmir because no state/UT can grow without Gramin Vikas.

Director RDD also addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts.
