Hands on Training on “How to Protect Email Account” held at GCW

 

UDHAMPUR : Digital Initiative Cell and Department of Computer Applications of Government College for Women Udhampur organized Hands on Training on “How to Protect the Email Account” under the aegis of G-20 Digital Innovation for stay safe online campaign.

The programme was conducted with the support and guidance of the principal of the college Prof. Anjali Mahajan.

The trainer for the session was Paramjit Singh, HOD Computer Applications wherein he highlighted the need and importance of Email account and explained the various steps on how to keep and maintain a safe and secures Email account for various types of data handling. He also informed the students on protecting the privacy settings (personal information) in an email account and how to monitor things like suspicious mails/spams; and unauthorized activity.

He also explained that ‘To Stay Safe online’ is the main requirement in the present scenario as so many online scams are going on around in our day to day life.

As many as 25 students of the college participated and acquired knowledge through this Hands on Training session.

The principal of the college appreciated the training event and encouraged the organizers to conduct more such informative and learning sessions.

The programme was organized by Paramjit Singh (Nodal Officer of G-20 Digital Innovation for stay safe online campaign) Sarika Mahajan, Assistant Professor of Electronics, Dr. Meena Gupta, Assistant Professor of English, ShalluJasrotia, and Assistant Professor of Music.
