Hands-on Training workshop on ‘Demonstration of Instruments used for research in Unani Medicine’
Aligarh : Hands-on Training workshop on ‘Demonstration of Instruments used for research in Unani Medicine ‘ held in the department of Ilmul Advia recently.
In this workshop forty-five research scholars from different departments of AK Tibbiya College, JN Medical College, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Agriculture Microbiology, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry and Zoology including some faculty members participated.
Three key instruments which are mostly used for research viz. ELISA reader; Automated Analyzer and HPLC were demonstrated by three resource persons including Dr Mohd. Saad Umar (Bio-technology), Mr Durgesh Rajput (AGAPPE, Agra) and Dr. Sultan Zahiruddin (Pharmacognosy & Phyto-chemistry) from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.
Prof (Dr) Abdul Latif, Former Chairman, and former Co-Ordinator DRS-I program chaired the session as Chief Guest. He appreciated the department for organizing practical training events and highlighted the significance of standardization of test substances in the research by using the latest technology like HPLC, HPTLC, GC-MS, and LC-MS.
In the Inaugural session Prof FS Sherani (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine) while delivering his presidential address emphasized the significance of utilization of soft skills in the present technology era. Progress and promotion of research is based on basic understanding of basic principles, which can be proved with the help of the latest instrumental technology.
Dr Abdur Rauf (Co-ordinator, DRS-II & Chairman, department of Ilmul Advia) in his welcome address introduced the theme of the workshop and briefed about the importance of utilizing instrumental technology in research.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Nazish . The program was convened by Dr Sumbul Rehman.
