Harappa Education charts ambitious growth
New Delhi: Harappa Education, India’s leading online learning institution, is poised to chart their next phase of growth. Today, they announced the appointment of Kanika Mathur as Chief Marketing Officer, Nilanjan Kar as President, Institutions & Enterprise; Mudit Shekhawat as Chief Consumer Officer; Priya Krishnan as Vice President, International and Praveen Bahl as Vice President, Institutions.
By adding to the senior leadership team, Harappa Education has crystallized a firm roadmap to become a learning institution, of choice, scale and reputation, in its unique curriculum focus of cognitive, social and behavioral skills, for professionals at different points of their careers.
The senior leadership team will enable the company to meet its strong growth plans across its enterprise, higher education, global and consumer businesses.
Harappa’s unique curriculum of 5 Habits and 25 Skills is delivered through an engaging online-first approach, and addresses a core gap in education: the cognitive (how to think, reason and problem-solve), social (how to communicate, influence and build relationships) and behavioral (how to grow, act and lead), skills that employers crave at the workplace.
Since it went live in April 2019, Harappa has acquired nearly 200,000 learners, and works with more than 50 marquee enterprises, across a wide range of industries; and more than 20 higher educational institutions, largely in engineering, management and design education, to offer a range of asynchronous and live learning experiences. The company has also demonstrated and delivered industry-benchmark completion and engagement numbers.

Kanika Mathur who has joined as the CMO, brings with her over three decades of agency experience, building brands and enterprise marketing in India, South East Asia and the Middle East. Most recently Kanika was EVP, Client Partnerships & COO, China for the Mullen Lowe Group. Speaking on her new role at Harappa, Kanika said, “I’m delighted to join Harappa at such an exciting time when ‘change’ is prompting us all to think so differently. Nilanjan Kar, Harappa’s new President, Institutions & Enterprise is backed by 23 years as an enterprise leader with a successful track record in delivering consistent business results and building high performance teams. Nilanjan previously served as the President, Enterprise Business at UpGrad and Vice President at StackRoute, a NIIT initiative. “The edtech industry is evolving rapidly. I’m looking forward to playing a part in Harappa’s growth story using the combination of Harappa’s lived and learned expertise of teaching foundational skills and my personal experience in building high-performance enterprise sales teams.,” said Nilanjan.
Mudit Shekhawat, Chief Consumer Officer at Harappa, has over 10 years of leadership experience in marketing communications across consumer and technology industries. Prior to Harappa, Mudit was the Chief Marketing Officer of Yatra India. He’s also worked with Ola Cabs as the Senior Director & Head of Marketing and with Myntra.com as Head–Brand Marketing. Speaking on his appointment, Mudit said, “Harappa has become a high-quality learning destination for individuals looking to chart a successful career. Priya Krishnan to Harappa, who joins Harappa as VP, International, has several years of experience in growing international businesses in South Asia, Europe and other key regions. Most recently, she was Director – Business Development & Marketing, South Asia, at IMAX Corporation and was also previously Head–Business Development & Marketing at PVR Cinemas for more than 6 years. “I’m inspired by the vision and growth Harappa Education has already achieved in India. I look forward to leveraging my experience and leading the business in international markets”, said Priya.
