Bhubaneswar: This World Mental Health Day the need for mental wellbeing, kindness and psychosocial support is much heightened. The #pandemic has done no favours. So consistent with this year’s theme and requirements, HCCB – one of India’s largest FMCG companies – has launched an exclusive music playlist that evokes and soothes certain emotions. The playlist is a part of HCCB’s “music for wellness” series, all based on an original composition by Dr. Ilaiyaraaja. The first set of compositions in the series was released on International Yoga Day. All the tracks in the series will be available on HCCB’s official YouTube channel.
The tracks in the playlist range from the zone of happy, motivating and energetic to the zone of meditative, spiritual and peaceful. In the first set, the music uses major chords that are uplifting and hence the pace and tempo is faster. In the second set, the composers have used a combination of major and minor scales with melodies that soothe and calm. The playlist has the usage of different sounds of nature like birds chirping, rain, babbling river, wind. Instruments used include the Glockenspiel, Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Harp and Xylophone.
Rajeev Raja, Founder BrandMusiq and Soundsmith, who has composed these tracks said, “We are very happy to be partnering with HCCB to curate the ‘music for wellness’ series. Music has amazing curative and healing powers. It is an acknowledged source of relief for stress and anxiety. We thought it was a perfect antidote for these trying times.”
Reflecting on the playlist and its launch, Kamlesh Sharma, Chief Communications Officer, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), said“Like with most things, being well, starts with investing in ourselves. Simple things and simpler ways can be the key. Being kind, sharing (emotions, resources, wisdom), relaxing, listening to #music are the first few. We are happy to make these musical pieces available for download such that they can be available even when our devices may not be connected to the internet. Music is a balm and a very good investment for self-care.”
On its part, HCCB is offering expert sessions, counseling, webinars to help its employees stay positive during the pandemic. Earlier, the company also released a separate set of music playlist in its effort to encourage people to stay home and practice yoga with family to mark the International Yoga Day on June 21, 2020.
