Health Education camp held at R.S.Pura Nari Niketan

JAMMU : A one day medical camp on Health Education under Poshan Abhiyaan was today organised here at R.S.Pura Nari Niketan for the Supervisors, Asha workers, Anagwanwari workers and locals.

The event was held under the overall supervision of Child Development Project Officer R.S.Pura, Ateeksha Sethi. Dr. Kanika, Medical Officer was the resource person.

The main objective of the camp was to impart awareness to the participants about Anaemia and its cure.

Dr. Kanika listed the Nutritional and Non-Nutritional factors responsible for Anaemia in various age groups and gave health tips to the participants. She also explained in detail the doses of Iron & Folic Acid for different groups.

The Child Development Project Officer highlighted the objectives of Poshan Abhiyaan and said it the most appropriate platform for fighting against malnourishment among the children and women. She also explained different schemes like PMMVY, Ladli Beti etc run by the Department of Social Welfare.

She also stressed on identification of malnourished children by AWWS for curing the problem at its root.
