HKU honours over 270 long-serving staff members
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) held a Long Service Awards Photo Celebration today (June 12) to recognise staff for their long-term contribution. President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Xiang Zhang congratulated staff members for their dedication, commitment and loyalty to the University.
This year, a total of 274 staff members received the Long Service Awards, including 2 colleagues receiving the 45-year award, 14 receiving the 40-year award, 33 for the 35-year award, 136 for the 25-year award and 89 for the 15- year award.
The long and loyal service of the staff members has been instrumental to the University’s growth and accomplishments over the years. Among all the awardees, Professor David Dudgeon, Chair Professor of Ecology and Biodiversity of the School of Biological Sciences and Professor John Bacon-Shone, Director of Social Sciences Research Centre, have served the University for 40 years while Professor Johannes Chan Man Mun, Chair Professor of Public Law, and Professor Albert Chen Hung Yee, Cheng Chan Lan Yue Professor in Constitutional Law, have joined the University for 35 years.
