Hundreds of Distance Education students reaching LPU Campus for Induction Programme

Jalandhar: In one of its first kind of provision, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is receiving hundreds of distance education students from various locations of Punjab at LPU campus, on daily basis, for its induction programme. Considering the huge rush of the students, LPU is conducting the distance education induction programme in batches on week days, and even on Sundays. During this visit to the campus, distance education students get their documents verified; bio-metric details procured; and, admission procedure processed.
On successful completion of admission process, students get their registration numbers and log-in credentials of ‘Online Learning Management System’ on the spot. During this specially designed induction programme, distance education students are guided about various systems, processes, procedures, provisions and facilities related to ‘LPU Distance Education’ study mode. This is devised on the same lines of freshmen induction programme as is for regular students at LPU.
LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shares: “We feel that due to certain compulsions and unavoidable circumstances many of the persons in the state remain devoid of higher education for which they lament and keep on aspiring. I am happy to note that on reaching to LPU distance education programmes these are proving up to their passion for achieving higher learning. Even, many of the illustrious professionals in their respective fields are seen opting for these programmes. Distance education learning at LPU is considered in equivalence to that provided to regular students as distance education students share the entire academic, co-curricular, sports, cultural activities participations held at LPU campus like their regular counter-parts.”
Illustrative, LPU is offering its distance education programme within Punjab and is operating all its administrative and academic functions from the university campus directly. Students are provided with the facilitation/ support for the study through online learning resources available on LPU e-Connect online portal and through ‘Personal Contact Programmes (PCPs)’ regularly conducted at the university campus.
