New Delhi– An average millennial starts investing in stock markets typically between the age group of 25-30, primarily when he/she becomes professionally active. However, knowledge knows no boundaries and when it comes to investment, an early start always gives better returns. With millennials now exploring different avenues of investment, StockGro aims to help them step into the world of stocks and investment at a young age.
In this endeavour, StockGro has joined hands with ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) and NIRC (Northern India Regional Council Of ICAI) to launch exclusive Knowledge Series and Stock Market Competition – “War of Wall Street” under Capital Market and Investors Protection initiative. The event spans across 4 weeks, and offers students an opportunity to learn from stock market stalwarts and earn prizes for building a winning portfolio.
StockGro is India’s first social investment platform with a gamified virtual interface that enables users to discover trading strategies, compete and interact with some of the country’s best minds. With this partnership, StockGro aims to help over 6 lac students and 4 lac professionals learn the nuances of Stock market.
The event will begin on June 18th where the StockGro leagues span across 4 weeks between June 18 to July 16th, 2021 and give away INR 2,00,000 in Prize Money to the winners. The Knowledge Series will include 4 knowledge sessions and Fire-Side Chat over the weekends with Stock Market Experts and leading Investors sharing their insights.
Speaking about the initiative, Ajay Lakhotia, Founder, StockGro said, “Our education system makes us job ready, but it does not make us Investment ready. Our culture, our family teaches us how to save money, but no one teaches us how to invest money. At StockGro, we are on a mission to make millennials Investment ready. This mission is bigger than me, bigger than our team and our investors. We are thrilled to partner with ICAI and applaud their thought leadership in enabling the students to learn practical application of their financial knowledge and facilitate the Knowledge Series and launch National Level Competition for CA Students with StockGro”
In the week-long StockGro league, the students will participate in a five-day trading simulation event on the StockGro platform every week for four weeks. Every individual player will be tested based on their ability to invest in the right stocks and build their portfolio and the one with the highest yield will be declared the round winner. Winners will be announced every weekend over the Knowledge Series Event.
Enthusiastic about the partnership, Avinash Gupta, Chairman, NIRC (ICAI) added, “AT ICAI, we are always pushing the boundaries to help our next generation CAs learn and solve real-life problems beyond attaining their degrees. This partnership with StockGro will help our students and professionals test their investment knowledge and upskill themselves with investment tools and trading strategies in the Stock Market.”
Also, with India fighting its battle against the disastrous Covid-19 pandemic, the Prize money won by users participating in NIRC League will be donated to Covid Relief. Each League Prize pool will be INR 50,000 per week. Additionally the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winner from every league will get a certificate and a gift hamper. The user building the best portfolio across 4 weeks will be awarded an Apple Laptop. The felicitation will be done by NIRC Chairman and Guest Speaker for the day.
