“In the last four years, RISE has proved to be a great platform for showcasing excellence in research and innovation under a broader set of R&D themes. During the pandemic in 2020, our faculty actively participated in research, innovation and implementation of activities that could be of help to the society. We worked with various State Governments on some vital projects, which included building the COVID-19 dashboard for tracking the status of COVID-19 affected persons for the Government of Karnataka, and building a Migrants Helpdesk Platform for the Jharkhand Government, among others” said Prof S Sadagopan, Director, IIITB.

Dr Shiva Kumar Malapaka, Assistant Professor, IIITB, who is leading the efforts toward RISE this year, said “RISE has been a major event for IIITB each year and focuses on celebrating efforts toward encouraging research and development – an activity that is the very essence of our institute. Each year, we showcase commendable innovations and breakthrough contributions in science and technology, and I’m looking forward to seeing the kind of path breaking work that has been researched this year, in areas like community care, neural networks and software systems, to name a few”, he said.
