IIM Bodhgaya signed an MoU with BIPARD

The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), Government of Bihar . The MoU was signed by Dr. Vinita S Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya, and Shri Mayank Warwade, IAS, OSD, BIPARD cum Commissioner, Magadh Division Gaya. As a part of this MoU, IIM Bodh Gaya will conduct an eleven-month long (three months on campus and eight months off campus) Executive Development Program in Public Policy and Management for the gazetted officers nominated by BIPARD.
The Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development is one of the most important regulatory departments of the State Government. BIPARD conducts training for Indian Administrative Services (probationers), probationers of Bihar Administrative Services, and probationers of other allied services who undergo a basic training course at the Institute. It is committed to training government and non-government functionaries in the field of development management.
Through this MoU, IIM Bodh Gaya agreed to become the knowledge partner of BIPARD. Specifically, IIM Bodh Gaya would provide capacity building through customized management development training to the officers of the Bihar state government nominated by BIPARD. IIM Bodh Gaya will also conduct short-term training programs, joint research projects, and case studies on best practices in public administration.
IIM Bodh Gaya is keen to support the state of Bihar in developing leadership and management capacity. The institute is already actively involved in providing leadership and management training to various departments of the Bihar government, such as the State Health Society, Police Academy, WALMI, and Department of Industries, to name a few.
IIM Bodh Gaya offers MBA, IPM, Ph.D., and short and long-duration Executive Education programmes. It has also signed an MOU with AIIMS Patna to offer academic programs and conduct joint research in the health sector. The Institute is also planning to offer a two-year full-time MBA programme in new-age technology and healthcare. Additionally, it is proposing to set up a satellite campus at Bihta Industrial Area Patna to offer executive MBA and Ph.D. programmes.
During the inauguration ceremony of the 11-month-long Executive Program in Public Policy and Management, Prof Vinita S Sahay, Director-IIM Bodh Gaya, said,” IIM Bodh Gaya aims to contribute to the development of Bihar state, and we need your support for fulfilling it. Training can become impactful only when it’s co-created by instructors and participants. While we will train you around best practices in public policy and management, you need to educate us on the public administration issues pertinent to Bihar. Together, we need to make the success of this program our joint mission.” She also thanked Shri Mayank for being so proactive and bringing this program from incubation to initiation with such speed and accuracy.
Shri Mayank Warwade congratulated the participants who registered for the programme and appreciated their willingness to learn even after accumulating so many years of work experience. He said,” With the tag of IIM Bodh Gaya, this programme has become even more prestigious and effective. We encourage you to bring the case studies specific to public policy and administration in Bihar to realize the goal of this program which is skill development and capacity building.”
The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Laeequdeen, Chairperson, Executive Education, IIM Bodh Gaya. In the end, participants took an oath of public administration. It was administered by Shri Mayank.
