IIM Kozhikode Celebrates 27th Foundation Day; Unveils ‘Vision Wall’ Commemorating Institute’s Vision 2047

Kozhikode: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) completed twenty-six years of academic excellence and celebrated its twenty-seventh Foundation Day here on Monday. Mr Faizal E Kottikollon, Founder & Chairman KEF Holdings Dubai, Chairman Meitra Hospitals was the Chief Guest for the commemorative gathering presided over by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee in the presence of students, faculty and staff.

 

Founded in 1996, IIMK was the fifth IIM to be set up by the government and is now one of the fastest growing IIMs in the country with global accreditations from EFMD (EQUIS) and AMBA (UK). IIM Kozhikode has also consolidated its position among the Top-5 Management Institutes in the country in the prestigious NIRF Rankings released by the Ministry of Education.

 

In his Foundation Day address to the IIMK community, the renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, who also runs the Faizal & Shabana Foundation, Mr Faizal E Kottikollon spoke about his entrepreneurial journey fuelled by his own ‘curiosity’ and the spirit of ‘learning’. Having played a transformational role in creating the now nationally acclaimed Nadakaavu Government School (GHSS), as among the Top 3 government schools among 1.2 million government schools in India, he acknowledged the contribution of IIMK and its Director for implementing the visionary project. The success of the project led to the Kerala government using it as a scalable model to transform 1,000 government schools in the State. Director IIM Kozhikode, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, in his address congratulated the members of IIMK community and said “IIMK has come a long way in these twenty six years from a couple of barren hilltops in a small town to an institution of national eminence and global impact. Our Vision of Globalizing Indian Thought is deeply rooted in Authenticity (Satyam), Nityam (Sustainability) and Purnam (Fulfilment) and have been the hallmark of IIMK’s remarkable and innovative 26-year journey. As an institute we are committed to academic excellence and lighting the path for the next Big Idea to take its shape in India.”

 

Earlier, Mr Kottikollon and Prof. Chatterjee jointly unveiled the ‘Vision Wall’ adorned with IIMK’s motto of ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’ to commemorate IIMK’s 26-year journey. The Institute also facilitated senior faculty and staff members who completed 15 years of service at IIMK and thanked them for their invaluable contribution.
