On the occasion of World Heart Day 2023, BM Birla Heart Research Centre is delighted to unveil a holistic guide to well-being. This book goes beyond the conventional dietary guidelines, encompassing the entire spectrum of wellness from nutrition to fitness. It offers a transformative roadmap towards a healthier, more vibrant life, firmly grounded in self-care and a vital guide on rehabilitation exercise, emphasizing its pivotal role in contemporary heart health.

BM Birla Heart Research Centre aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and motivation needed to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. This new release is aimed to ignite a passion for well-being and encourage sustained health for all. BM Birla Heart Research Centre focuses on the aspiration to inspire individuals, encourage an active lifestyle, and promote sustained health through the introduction of the new release.

Along with that, another remarkable move, our dedicated team of clinical experts extended a helping hand to young hearts across our vibrant city. They imparted vital knowledge on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), a life-saving technique for emergencies, to ensure that during critical moments, hearts keep beating and breaths keep flowing. CPR bridges the gap until professional help arrives, making it a crucial skill for everyone to grasp, regardless of their medical background. This initiative not only empowers a segment of our society but also inspires us all to break societal norms and embrace the lifesaving skills needed during medical emergencies. BM Birla Heart Research Centre is committed to fostering a heart-healthy world through knowledge and action.

Dr. Anjan Siotia, Director of Cardiology Department, BM Birla Heart Research Centre, Kolkata said, “Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can increase a person’s probability of survival by doubling or even tripling it if it is performed as soon as their heart stops beating. Giving CPR can make sure that oxygen-rich blood reaches the brain if someone is not breathing. This is crucial because, without oxygen, a person could either die in just eight minutes or suffer severe brain damage. A person may require CPR if they stop breathing in any of the following situations including choking, near-drowning, poisoning, drug overdose, smoke inhalation, cardiac arrest or heart attack, and more.”

On this occasion, Mr. Supratik De Sarkar, Unit Head of BM Birla Heart Research Centre, Kolkata said, “At BM Birla Heart Research Centre, World Heart Day 2023 holds profound significance. Our Electro-Physiology (EP) Lab stands at the forefront of cardiac advancements, ensuring precision and innovation in every procedure.
