IMI, New Delhi welcomes Prof. Himadri Das as the new Director General of the Institute

 

New Delhi, 4th October’ 2018: Professor Himadri Das has taken charge of India’s first corporate sponsored business school IMI, New Delhi as Director General from 4th October 2018. He succeeds Professor Debashis Chatterjee, currently Director at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode.

Prof. Das returns to IMI after being away for close to six years. During the time he was away, he first served as Director of Great Lakes Institute of Management Gurgaon and then as Director of MDI Gurgaon.

In his first innings at IMI New Delhi, he spent eleven years as Professor of Finance and Information Systems, in addition to taking on a variety of leadership roles out of which five years were as the Dean (Academic Programs). Prior to these academic roles, he has about thirteen years of corporate experience mainly in the IT products and services industry, in the US and India, for software multinationals involved with products for engineering and financial applications.

He has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Luxembourg, the University of Tampere in Finland, and the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France. Prof. Das has a B.Tech. and MBA from IIT Delhi and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, USA.
