India is not reliant on China for accessing rare earth minerals: Minister of State for Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh

Minister of State for Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that India is not reliant on China for accessing rare earth minerals. Dr. Singh said this in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

He said, in India, capacity, and capabilities in terms of mining, processing, extraction, refining, and production of high pure Rare Earth oxides are adequately available. The Minister said, the production of Monazite the primary source of rare earth minerals in India is around four thousand metric tonnes per annum.
