International Day for Universal Access to Information 2020 in Sudan
On 19 November 2020, the UNESCO Khartoum office, Sudanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture (NatCom), National Information Center (NIC) and Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (TPRA) organized 6th commemoration of the International Day for Universal Access to Information. The event took place in the Telecom Tower, Khartoum, and attracted 28 participants, including 13 women and 4 youth.
The participants were welcomed by Mr. Ibrahim Bakhit, the Director General of the NIC, Dr. Muammar Ali Ibrahim, the Director of Quality Management in the TPRA, Dr. Wafaa Said Ahmed Mohammed, Secretary-General of the NatCom, and Dr. Aiman Badri, UNESCO, who all expressed their loyalty to internationally accepted principles for Access to Information (AtI).
During technical session, the participants enjoyed by the lecture of Mr. Abdelmonem Awad Mohammed, the Director of the Internet and Information Security Department in the TPRA about information security and its legal frameworks in Sudan.
