Introductory Workshop on the Preparation of the Nomination File for the World Heritage Convention

Within the framework of the project “Supporting Operational Management at World Heritage sites in the Cluster”, UNESCO Cairo Office organized 5-day introductory workshop on the preparation of the nomination file for the world heritage convention, upon the Ministry of Antiquities’ request for technical assistance to enhance its capacity for the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in Egypt.

This workshop provided twenty-five participants at the Ministry of Antiquities with the opportunity to enhance the understanding of the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in Egypt, including the World Heritage nomination process. The Workshop programme consisted of lectures, group works, and a field visit to the Coptic monasteries at Wadi Natrun.
