JDBI hosted its 8th Graduation Congregational Ceremony

Kolkata : J.D. Birla Institute recently hosted its 8th Graduation Congregational Ceremony for students of batch 2019-2022. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Jadapvur University Prof. Suranjan Das graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Prof. Chiranjib Bhattacharyya – Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Snehamanju Basu – Registrar. Mrs. Sumangala Birla and Secretary General of Vidya Mandir Society – Major General V N Chaturvedi were also present.

 

The college affiliated to Jadvapur University has fully exited the pandemic phase, and all academic activities are being carried out offline. Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities have resumed in full as before, and students are gaining practical experience through field trips, industrial tours, and special lectures. The college has also introduced a variety of short-term courses to equip students with additional value-added skills and capabilities. Research ethics is instilled among students even at the undergraduate level, and the Institute has purchased plagiarism detection software.

 

The college has published over 60 articles in reputable journals as a result of its focus on publishing in the last 18 months. Teachers have received Best Paper awards at seminars and conferences. Many of them have completed Ph.D, while some have enrolled in doctoral programmes. The college’s infrastructure is being further upgraded with digitalized Audio-visual room and significant increase in the bandwidth for WIFI connectivity. The main campus has been certified a green campus. Many of our students are enrolled in reputable colleges in India and overseas and those employed are in good-ranking positions. With highest CTC of 7.0 lakh per annum, placement at the UG level was excellent during this last session.

 

More than 600 students got their PG or UG degrees in 2022. Of them, around 500 students were present for the ceremony, which had a festive atmosphere.
