Jharkhand Tribal arts and handicrafts are becoming the center of attraction for visitors
International Trade Fair has started at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi and as per IITF 2022 theme “Vocal for Local, Local to Global”, Jharkhand Pavilion has been able to put up a great show. Its indigenous concept, look and feel has become the centre of attraction at this international trade fair.
In the 41st edition of IITF, the artists and art forms of Jharkhand are getting recognition at the national level. Also, the initiative to provide a new platform for their art abroad has been taken up under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Vijay Chitrakar, a traditional artist of Amadubi village of East Singhbhum district, who is performing live Paitkar painting at Jharcraft stall, says that his art form is getting respect at the International Trade Fair. This artist from Jharkhand is confident that with the help of ongoing Government initiatives, his art will deffinitely make its mark on the global stage.
This year, Jharkhand is participating as a partner state in the Indian International Trade Fair 2022, this will surely help the state in getting the due attention of potential investors from across the globe. About 2,500 domestic and foreign participants from 12 other countries are showcasing their products at this 14-day fair.
A special presentation of tribal costumes
Tribal costumes have been presented to the world in a new colour form at the Johar Gram Stall located within the Jharkhand Pavilion. As a result, the local weavers and tribal artisans of Jharkhand are getting a golden opportunity to showcase tribal weaving on the international platform. Jharkhand’s traditional tribal jackets, shirts, towels, gamchas, caps, etc. displayed here are becoming the centre of attraction for trade fair visitors.
Palash brand also throbs
At Palash Stall exhibition of superior quality indigenous products prepared by the Rural Self Help Group’s sisters of Sakhi Mandal has become a point of attraction in the Jharkhand Pavilion. Under the able leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Hemant Soren Palash Brand was conceptualised to make women self-reliant. More than two lakh rural women entrepreneurs are manufacturing, processing, packaging and selling their products under the Palash brand which has become a big hit at the India International Trade Fair in Delhi. Stalls of Jareda, Jharcraft, Agriculture, Khadi and Forest Department are also registering their presence in the trade fair.
Initiative to promote solar energy
Recently, Chief Minister Hemant Soren implemented the Solar Energy Policy 2022 for the wide expansion of solar energy in the state, under which a target of 4000 MW power generation from solar energy has been set in the next five years. In JREDA’s stall, a unique picture of development has been showcased through a 3D working model of a solar-powered village.
