RAJOURI : The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages organised a Music Fest at the Auditorium Hall of Government Degree College Darhal today.

The event was organised under the supervision of Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh and with the active support of Principal GDCDarhal.

The event was presided over jointly by Prof Ahsan ul Rehman Qazi and Prof Makhdoom Ahmad. It began with the National Anthem followed by folk singing, folk music and folk lores.

Prof Qazi appreciated the work of JKAACL Rajouri Poonch in his address and emphasised that such activities are important for the new generation to be aware of their traditions, customs, culture and ethnicity. He underlined that without cultural awareness, younger generations risk losing their regional languages, moral values, folk music, dances and lore.

Hundreds of people from the locality, college staff and students enjoyed the presentation of folk music parties. The proceedings were conducted by prominent poet/singer Parvez Malik.
