Johns Hopkins University Expert Appointed Vice President of Howard Hospital Foundation

Howard County General Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, appointed Kirsten Baier as vice president of Howard Hospital Foundation. As vice president, Baier will plan, manage and execute all fundraising efforts for the foundation to benefit the hospital.

“We are excited for Kirsten to join our team,” said Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed, president of Howard County General Hospital. “As we celebrate the hospital’s 50th anniversary, we are looking forward to the hospital’s role in health care of the future and will need the community’s philanthropic support more than ever.”

Baier is a development professional with more than 15 years of experience directing philanthropic, institutional and major gift campaigns for local chapters of national nonprofit organizations. She comes to the hospital from the Metro DC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she served as executive director. Prior to that, she was regional director of the Mideast region of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

Baier received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s certificate in fostering inclusion and diversity from Yale School of Management. Additionally, she is an alumna of AmeriCorps.
