Juhi meets scores of delegations at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR : Scores of delegations today called on Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson District Development Council at her Office in the DC office complex, to project their demands and issues.
A variety of issues were projected including provision of drinking water, electricity supply, road connectivity.
A spirited deputation of Tandhar area of Chenani called upon Pathania seeking the handing over of PDC managed Chenani Hydel Project road from Village Tandar to Laddan Power House to PWD(R&B) so that the road connectivity to about ten villages of Chenani could be provided.
Pathania took up the issue with the PDC and Additional Deputy Commissioner to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of the public issue.
Another deputation from Chigla Balota called for provision of roads from Lehri to Ranyal via Dhara, roads from Ujh bridge to Kansala, Siamery.
Various other delegations led by PRI members had detailed discussions with the Vice Chairperson regarding key developmental issues pertaining to their areas regarding shortage of drinking water, irregular water supply, electricity supply, paucity of Staff in schools and health institutions.
She took up these issues with the concerned departments and instructed them to provide viable solutions to the people.
During the meeting, PRIs members and locals raised various issues and demands regarding water, electricity, sports, educational, health , infrastructure amenities including demand for electric poles, water supply and immediate repairing of hand pumps.
Due to acute scarcity of water many handpumps are out of order for so many weeks. She called upon the Groundwater Deptt to repair out-of-order pumps. She also vied for regular tanker service in dry, arid areas reeling under acute drinking water scarcity. She also called for crash measures for coping with water scarcity in these areas. She further called for liason between the civil and mechanical wing of Jal Shakti Department so that proper supply of water is made available to the people in these days of scorching heat.
She assured delegations of proper redressal of all their demands.
Besides other grievances were raised to which the Vice Chairperson gave a patient hearing.
