Karunya Donates Corono testing Kiosk designed in the University for Pooluvapaty PHC
New Delhi: As part of the corona prevention initiatives, a special Kiosk designed and made by the students and staff of Karunya Deemed University was donated to the primary health center at Poolluvapatty.
Receiving the kiosk and sanitizer machine, Dr.Kanagarani, Block Medical Officer of Pooluvapatty Primary Health Centre thanked Dr.Paul Dhinakaran the Chancellor of Karunya Deemed University and said it would be a shield to the health care workers as they are involved in collecting sample for corona testing. For a PHC in a very rural area, this is a great thing as they have now all the infrastructure in taking sample on par with the city testing centres. The people living around also feel secured that their PHC has adequate infrastructure to take sample for corona testing securely.
Dr.Jeyaseelan and Mr. Lawrence from Mechanical Engineering department, while explaining about the kiosk said that it has got UV lights which would help in disinfection and the kiosk would prevent the healthcare worker from directly touching the patient and having a chance to contract the virus during sample taking.
SEESHA – Chief Operating Officer Dr.Samuel Thomas, PHC Medical Officers Dr.Arasu, Dr.Balaji, Sanitary Inspector Mr.Selvaraj and other health care workers were also present while receiving the Kiosk and thanked the Karunya Management for caring for them during this pandemic crisis.
The team of students and faculty who designed this was greatly appreciated by the Chancellor Dr.Paul Dhinakaran, Vice Chancellor Dr.Mannar Jawahar and Registrar Dr.Elijah Blessing.
