Kaushal Mahotsav in Sambalpur to provide an array of opportunities for employment and apprenticeship to the youth
Sambalpur: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) held a press conference today to announce the upcoming mega recruitment drive Kaushal Mahotsav scheduled on 21st January 2024 . The drive envisions to build an ‘employment-ready’ workforce with a multifaceted approach, focusing on providing on-the-spot job offers across sectors to the talented youth of Sambalpur and it was held at Sambalpur, Odisha.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will inaugurate the program.
The mela envisions to bring job seekers and employers on one platform to meet the ever evolving demand for skilled talent across industries through providing them employment and apprenticeship opportunities that prepares them for future of work. The mela stands as a progressive initiative that equips Youth Shakti with domain knowledge and technical skills, enabling them to become a valuable asset in steering the growth and development of the state at grassroot level.
The recruitment drive will witness participation from over 50 employers providing jobs across roles like registered nurse, student apprentice, care giver, general duty assistant, assembly line operator, sales executive. It will be attended by organizations like Shahi Exports, L&T Finance, Reliance Jio, Beck & Pollitzer, Suryoday Small Finance Bank, and Health Care at Home.
On organising the Kaushal Mahotsav, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International extended his best wishes to the potential candidates and acknowledged the contribution of the employers in uplifting the youth by providing them the right avenues to showcase their talent. “The youth of Sambalpur has immense potential and the enthusiastic response and participation from candidates is a testament to our commitment of harnessing the potential of young demographic dividend that aligns with their interest and aspirations and contribute towards achieving the vision of Hon’ble Minister of making India ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. It is my firm belief that the platform will facilitate industry connect, spearhead the benefits of apprenticeship, and stimulate career opportunities for youth that caters to the needs of evolving skilled talent across industries.”

To apply for the job, candidates can register on the NSDC online job portal at https://www.nsdcjobx.com/. It will be followed by the interview process and the selected candidates will receive a job letter with an annual package between 1.4 lakhs and 5 lakhs. The interested candidates can apply for different job roles listed on the portal in sectors like apparel, automotive, BFSI, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, Telecom & IT, tourism and hospitality
The proposed Kaushal Mahotsav will feature several activities including counselling, free screening, and motivational sessions that help candidates to make informed decisions for their careers. There are approximately 7,000 vacancies for participants. Youth from diverse educational qualifications have registered for the event, including MBAs, ITIs, diploma holders, graduates, intermediates, and matriculants.
The eligibility criteria for the candidates are that they must have a minimum age of 18 years to apply for Kaushal Mahotsav. Following this event, the upcoming Kaushal Mahotsav in Odisha is scheduled to be held in Angul, Deogarh and Jharsuguda. It will be open to all including participants with various educational qualifications and candidates belonging to schemes like PMKK, PMKVY, apprenticeship and several skill developments schemes.
A flagship initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Kaushal Mahotsav is yet another step to boost employment opportunities on a large scale, with speed and high standards, to achieve the mission of a ‘Skilled India’. The event is a series of events periodically held in the state for converging recruiters and job seekers on a single platform to enable local youth with employment opportunities.
