KHEI, DRSC observe ‘International Volunteers Day’

SRINAGAR : Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute (KHEI) in collaboration with District Red Cross Committee (DRSC) Srinagar today observed ‘International Volunteers Day’.

The day is observed to offer an opportunity for volunteer-involving organizations and individual volunteers to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts, and recognize volunteer contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national, and international levels.

Dr. Syed Hanief Balkhi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Srinagar was the chief guest on the occasion.

At the outset, Vice Principal, Mukhtar Ahmad Kant welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries

Chairman of the school, Tariq Ahmad Baktoo welcomed all the guests and highly appreciated Shabir Hussain Khan (Blood donor of Kashmir) who has donated 180 points of blood.

Dr Farah, BMO Hazratbal spoke on the occasion and focused on the importance of volunteerism.

Earlier, the programme started with the recitation of the holy Quran and then students threw light on the importance of volunteerism and its need in this dog eat dog world.

The speakers spoke about the importance of volunteerism in our society and focused that the young generation should prepare from the very beginning toward this noble cause. It infused in them the spirit of empathy towards those who need help in the difficult times.
