King’s College London shines at the inaugural RateMyPlacement University Awards

King’s College London has been named one of the top 20 universities for work experience at the inaugural awarding of the RateMyPlacement ‘Best Universities for Work Experience’ Award.

This new award, which according to RateMyPlacement recognises that as “work experience becom(es) an increasingly important part of university life for students, universities play such a vital role in helping students to prepare and gain this valuable work experience, and ultimately employability” is a strong endorsement of of new Work-based Learning Unit and the variety of support developed by King’s Careers & Employability.

King’s is committed to developing meaningful work opportunities for students – building the knowledge, skills and experiences to develop their career thinking and employability and our new Work-based Learning Unit is focused on expanding and developing these interventions in the coming months.

To determine the finalists, RateMyPlacement asked thousands of students across the country to rate the resources and support provided by their university when looking for work experience, combining these responses together to produce and understanding across the sector of the work being delivered to support student employability not just after their studies, but as part of their time at university.

Our newly reframed Work-based Learning unit coordinates provision of industry placement, accredited internships and other work experience provision across King’s, including business treks, virtual projects and work shadowing.
