KLH Global Business School Hyderabad organizes Knowledge Sharing Session on Sustainable Development

Hyderabad: KL Deemed to be University, one of India’s leading universities, organized a knowledge sharing session as a part of its eminent guest lecture series for management course students at its Global Business School in Hyderabad Campus recently. Dr. Hippu Salk Kristle Nathan, Associate Professor at the Institute of Rural Management in Anand, Gujarat, was invited as guest speaker. Dr. Nathan delivered an effective and engaging lecture to the students on “Development – What is it and for whom?”

The session introduced many development views and shifting paradigms in the industry. It drew attention to the shortcomings of the prevalent strategy of evaluating development using a constrained set of macroeconomic indicators. During the session, Dr. Nathan cited the impact of the rebound effect and the fixation with positional goods has positive effect on sustainable development. He also discussed the current system of sustainable development goals and emphasized on effective ways to reach societal aspirations of equity which highlighted the dilemma of development projects in remote locations.
