Korea Maritime & Ocean University: Business agreement for the development of the shipbuilding and offshore plant industry
On the 21st , at the university headquarters , our university signed a business agreement with Ocean Platform ( President Bae Jae-ryu ) and 9 companies introducing foreign workers, and decided to join forces to develop the shipbuilding and offshore plant industry . Companies that introduce foreign workers are companies that accept foreign workers to carry out their business .
The business agreement ceremony was attended by key officials from participating institutions, including President Do Do-hee and Bae Jae-ryu, director of the Ocean Platform .
This agreement was signed to contribute to the development of the shipbuilding and offshore plant industry through the stable supply of excellent manpower to shipbuilding and offshore plant companies that are experiencing labor shortages .
Efforts are made according to the role of each institution according to the agreement .
Korea Maritime and Ocean University evaluates and certifies the quality of education for overseas personnel and cooperates to ensure that education is conducted smoothly .
The Ocean Platform efficiently conducts education and fostering work and helps overseas workers to find employment and settle in Korea . The 9 companies introducing foreign workers coordinate details with the Ocean Platform to create excellent educational conditions for overseas workers .
This agreement is expected to contribute to solving the labor shortage in the shipbuilding industry along with the government’s ‘ Measures to Resolve Difficulties in the Introduction of Foreign Workers in the Shipbuilding Industry ‘ . The measures to resolve difficulties in introducing foreign workers in the shipbuilding industry are the policies of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, with the main content being to shorten the processing period for preliminary recommendation of foreigners and employment recommendation .
Bae Jae-ryu, director of the Ocean Platform, said, “ Korea’s shipbuilding industry has entered a supercycle after 2022 and is reviving, but there are difficulties with professional technical manpower in the shipbuilding field that was leaked to other fields during the recession. ” ” he said .

Ocean Platform is a corporation composed of marine and shipbuilding experts from Busan , Ulsan , and Gyeongnam, and is located in Gangseo-gu, Busan . It is known as a platform for experts to solve the difficulties of domestic shipyards and enhance the competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry .
