Korea Maritime & Ocean University nails 100.1% of new student recruitment rate

In our university’s 2023 new student quota recruitment, 1,374 out of 1,373 enrolled, achieving a 100.1% recruitment rate.



Of the 43 students enrolled in the Faculty of Maritime Law, 44 students passed / registered due to a tie for 1 student . Therefore, for the number of applicants exceeding 1 in 2023 , the number of new students will be reduced by 1 to 1,371 in 2025 .



Looking at the number of enrolled students within the quota for each college, the College of Maritime Affairs has 478 students , the College of Marine Science and Technology Convergence has 630 students , and the College of Maritime Humanities and Social Sciences has 266 students .



100 out of 121 new students registered outside of the quota, and there were some inadequacies in special education candidates, specialized high school graduates, and overseas nationals .



As for transfer students, 138 out of 264 enrolled, and the recruitment rate is 52.3%.



Among transfer admissions, rural students , vocational high school graduates , and overseas nationals had insufficient applicants .



Korea Maritime and Ocean University supported stable adaptation by providing necessary information * that students were curious about at the beginning of the semester when announcing successful applicants for new and transfer students .

* Guidance on dormitory usage, scholarship application method, course registration period and method, credit transfer process, non-departmental information, information on basic diagnosis such as psychology , information on school facilities , contact information for departments and major departments, etc.



In particular , Pre-School ** was run five times between January and February for 468 applicants among prospective freshmen to strengthen the relationship between freshmen and provide them with an opportunity to actively and confidently start their college life .

** A program for prospective freshmen to stay together for two days and one night to strengthen their bonds and improve their adaptability to college life through various programs such as leadership enhancement , career planning , and library tours .
