Korea Maritime & Ocean University presents honorary doctorate degree to Bumhan Group Chairman Jeong Young-sik
On the 3rd, at the ‘ Honorary Doctorate Conferment Ceremony ‘ held in the seminar room of the new building of the College of Maritime Affairs, Bumhan Group Chairman Jeong Young-sik was conferred with an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from our university .
On this day, the ceremony for the honorary doctorate was attended by President Do Do-Hee Do, key university officials, Bumhan Group Chairman Young-Sik Jung, his family, and many key officials both inside and outside the country.
Bumhan Group Chairman Jung Young-sik is practicing corporate social responsibility in various ways, such as supporting and donating to the underprivileged, as well as developing the overall industry through corporate management.
Chairman Chung Young-sik developed a purely localized high-pressure air compressor for the first time in Korea and is preoccupying the world air compressor market.
In particular, the localization of hydrogen fuel cells for submarines contributed greatly to making Korea the second country in the world to possess fuel cell submarine technology. As a result, it is evaluated that it has advanced the design and manufacturing technology related to domestic hydrogen fuel cells to the next level.
In addition, Chairman Chung Young-sik is known as a model entrepreneur in the hydrogen fuel cell industry through scholarships for the underprivileged, donation activities, and establishment of a corporate culture of labor-management harmony, and he is also striving to create jobs through employment of the underprivileged.
In addition, it has continuously donated development funds to Korea Maritime and Ocean University, its alma mater, to foster excellent human resources, and is actively participating in corporate field training and industry-academia cooperation projects to foster global maritime leaders.

On the other hand, Chairman Chung Young-sik, a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Park Yong-sik ( class of 1980 , current Department of Mechanical and Energy System Engineering ) , established Beomhan Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1990 , specializing in the development and production of high-pressure compressors .
