Lancaster University: A warm welcome to Indonesian scholarship students

This year’s cohort is the second to join Lancaster University following the launch of IISMA in 2021. The students will be studying at the Lancaster UK campus for Michaelmas term across a variety of disciplines including Management, Computing, Engineering and Communication.

The nine students were welcomed to Lancaster with a celebratory event that recognised their achievements and saw them greeted warmly by Khairul Munadi, Education and Culture attaché (Indonesian Embassy to the UK), Professor Simon Guy, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global (Digital, International, Sustainability), Ben Matthews, Head of Global Engagement, Sarah Hutchinson, Head of Global Experiences and Mobility, Tania Hughes, Study Abroad Officer.

Professor Simon Guy, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global (Digital, International, Sustainability) at Lancaster University said: “It is wonderful to be able to give a warm welcome our new students from Indonesia. We are committed to ensuring all the students that have joined us benefit from all that Lancaster has to offer academically and culturally and that they return home having been fully supported in their studies and having built networks with peers and academics which will be of life-long benefit to them and their communities.”

Lancaster University was selected as a recipient of the prestigious IISMA following a competitive selection process. The IISMA scholarship scheme by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to fund Indonesian students for mobility programs at top universities and reputable industries overseas.
