Launch of the Third Batch of the Post Graduate Certificate Program in Supply Chain Management (PGCSCM)
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli inaugurated the third batch of the post-graduate certificate program in supply chain management on 7th January, 2023. The chief guest for the event was Shri Shubhankar Chatterji, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Cummins India Ltd. Dr. Nagendra V. Chowdary, Head of academic content, TimesPro. Dr. Godwin Tennyson, Director (acting), Dr. Sirish Kumar Gouda and Dr. Vinu CT, Program Directors of PGCSCM, and Dr. P. Saravanan, Dean – Corporate Relations and Faculty Affairs also attended the event.
The third batch includes 64 industry professionals from organizations such as ABB, Ashok Leyland, Blue Yonder, Caterpillar, and Varun Beverages, to name a few. The batch has an average work experience of 7.6 years.
Mr. Shubhankar Chatterji, stressed the significance of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the post-pandemic environment. He spoke about the growing rate of digitization which is changing the way supply chains operate. While highlighting the need to anticipate lead times, Mr. Chatterji also emphasized the requirement for visibility throughout the entire supply chain. He emphasized the necessity for resilient supply chains that are nimble and able to manage disturbances by adopting state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 technologies.
Dr. Nagendra Chowdary congratulated the participants elected for the course and discussed how the course would help participants create resilient supply chains for the industry. He also stressed on use of cutting-edge management strategies and technology to ensure efficient operations.
Dr. Godwin Tennyson emphasized the significance of dialogue in the mutual learning process. He also mentioned that the programme is designed to catalyze the thinking process on how supply chains should be viewed. Quoting the PM Gati Shakti program’s multi-modal transport, he discussed the various changes happening in the Indian supply chain and logistics ecosystem. He congratulated participants and emphasized the importance of IIM Trichy’s motto – Gyanam Anantam – Knowledge is endless.
In his welcome speech, Dr. Sirish Kumar Gouda provided the programme overview and discussed how it will assist participants in finding answers to challenging business problems in the area of supply chain management.
Dr. P Saravanan welcomed all attendees and provided an overview of the various executive education programs offered at IIM Tiruchirappalli.
Prof. Vinu CT concluded the event by thanking all the dignitaries for their presence and the speakers for their sharing their valuable insights.
