Mumbai : Lodha, India’s No. 1* real estate developer, today launched the ‘Lodha Genius Programme’
in partnership with Ashoka University, India’s leading interdisciplinary research and teaching university, with a vision
to nurture the country’s brightest young minds to achieve their highest potential. The programme seeks to address
the acute shortage of high-quality talent in the country by supporting academically bright school students through
the challenging period from Grade 9 onwards through academic, financial, mentoring, mental health, and other
enablers to enable them to excel in their chosen areas. First of its kind, the Lodha Genius Programme will provide
customized long-term support to exceptional students with an aim to build the next generation of leaders for our
nation.
The programme will entail on-campus seminars and projects, along with continued off-campus mentoring. In its first
year, the focus will be on Mathematics and the Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geosciences,
Astronomy, Ecology), etc. The students will be trained by world-renowned mathematicians and scientists from the
best institutions in India and abroad. Through continued mentorship, support, and peer learning, the programme
will build a strong foundation for the success of the students. The Chair of the Ashoka Science Advisory Council will
mentor the entire programme.
Students from standard 9 to 12 can apply for the programme online (www.lodhageniusprogram.com) till April 05,
2023; shortlisting will be done based on an online aptitude test and academic records of the applicants. Selected
students will then participate in a fully funded 4 weeks of on-campus training at Ashoka University, Delhi NCR,
between May 18th – June 17th, 2023. The exposure will help them in becoming motivated and self-directed learners;
develop their socio-emotional skills and inculcate the spirit of contributing to society. Further, as part of continued
mentoring, distinguished students of the Lodha Genius Programme will get opportunities to hone their talent at the
best universities in India and abroad, attending science fairs, working in research labs, and accessing global
resources.
Commenting on the programme, Abhishek Lodha, MD & CEO, Lodha said, “Guided with our philosophy of ‘Do Good,
Do Well’, we recognize our responsibility to build a better society and stronger nation as well. And for that, we must
identify and nurture India’s rich pool of highly able students and nurture them to become successful in their chosen
fields. It is not only a loss to the individual, but to society and the nation if a capable child is not able to achieve
success and we want to play a supportive role to address the gap which comes up due to a variety of reasons. India
is proud to have produced a large number of great business leaders and CEOs and in the next 20 years, we want to
grow this number manifold, as well as get similar success in areas like Arts, Sciences, Public Administration, and
Public Service. And as the number of highly successful Indian leaders grows, we are hopeful that they will each, in
their own way, give back to our society and nation and enable even more Indians to lead a better life. ‘Lodha Genius
Programme’ is a major step in this direction to drive collaborative and large-scale solutions for providing a better
future for our bright students. We are delighted to have Ashoka University as our partner in this journey; they come
with decade-long expertise in creating an inclusive institution of excellence and have been a pioneering force for
interdisciplinary higher education.”
Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Ashoka University said, “At Ashoka, we firmly believe in
nurturing future leaders by developing their talents and ingraining in them a commitment to public service in their
formative years. We are delighted to partner with the Lodha, who share our vision of nation-building. The ‘Lodha
Genius Programme’ will bolster our vision to become an inclusive institution of excellence by giving talented school
students access to a world-class educational experience.”
