Mahila Shakti Kendra Ramban hosts series of BBBP awareness events

Ramban: District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) Ramban (Mahila Shakti Kendra) organized a series of awareness programmes under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Abhiyan besides other women oriented schemes.

The programmes were held at different location, including Banihal town, Bankoot and Zenihal village in Sub-Division Banihal.

CDPO Banihal, Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers attended the awareness programme.

On the occasion, Resource Persons from DLCW, MSK spoke about various schemes pertaining to women welfare such as BBBP, PMMVY, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Widow Pension Scheme, pension for specially abled people and State Marriage Assistance Scheme.

The concerned officers and officials also made women aware about the importance of personal hygiene, use of sanitary pads, Sakhi One Stop Centre for women, Child Helpline No. 1098, J&K Child Protection Scheme and other women related Schemes.

They informed the participants that the toll free women Helpline NO 181 is available round-the- clock. They also stressed upon the education of children, especially girl child, besides highlighting the provision of free elementary education schemes.
