Mahindra University Hosts Seventh Governing Body Meeting

Hyderabad : The Seventh Governing Body meeting of Mahindra University was held on 10th February 2023. Shri Anand Mahindra, Chancellor, Mahindra University along with other esteemed board of members including Mr. Vineet Nayyar Former Executive Vice Chairman of Tech Mahindra, Mr. CP Gurnani, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Tech Mahindra, Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University present in the meeting. During the meeting members discussed the future expansion plans and other academic collaborations at the university.

 

Faculty/Students at the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering showcased select projects to the Chancellor and other esteemed guests. Some of these innovative and industry relevant projects included the Bi-directional charger for Vehicle for long range in national highways along with plug and play IV curve tester to fine the faulty panels in solar array. The Centre for Sustainable Infrastructure and Systems projected their research work on building Digi Encyclopedia of Indian traditional structures (AR VR meta verse ) and structural monitoring using Vision and Vibration based on deep learning techniques. Students from the Robotics Lab gave demos of Exo-Suit for human arm rehabilitation, autonomous guided vehicle and Projectile launcher for Lagori, which were all appreciated by the Chancellor and other dignitaries.

 

Sri Anand Mahindra also inaugurated the university’s central library that is spread across 42000 sq. ft. and has 15873 books and 7653 Titles with access to e-resources in the library and the entire campus. The new digitally inaugurated library uses KOHA software, an integrated multi-user library automation management system that supports all in-house activities of the library and deploys RFID (Radio Frequency Identifier) based Automation system and Circulation system. The database of the entire library is being updated on a regular basis along with details of recently acquired books. The Library also has the facility to access the subscribed e-resources from off-campus which is Remote Access (INFED).

 

The wi-fi enabled digital library has separate reading rooms for Professors, Research Scholars and students, text and reference book sections and library staff cabins. An open-access system enables users to browse and pick up documents of their choice without any hindrance.
