Month long “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” (HADP) culminates in District Kishtwar
KISHTWAR : On the last day of “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” in the district Kishtwar, today a training workshop was conducted by the Department of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare under the close supervision of CAO Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik and in coordination with the other allied departments here at Conference Hall, New DC Office Complex Kishtwar.
The training programme was presided over by District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the Department of Agriculture and allied departments for the successful completion of the month long “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” which aims at enhancement of overall production, establishment of private/public nurseries, Seed villages, Area expansion Employment creation, besides formulation of FPOs and incentivization on area expansion under the interventions of Integrated Farming System.
The DC said that FPOs can play a very important role in the development, improvisation and expansion of the agriculture sector and ensure the farmer’s income is re-doubled.
Besides, he added that tourism and tourists can be instrumental in promotion of local products like walnut, Rajamash, Saffron, Guchhis , zeera etc at a larger platform and help the farmers and local Youth in rural areas to generate better sources of livelihood and income generation.
He urged the officers and field functionaries of agriculture and allied departments to encourage farmers to participate in the Kishtwar Gift Box Making Competition rolled out under the aegis of Sinthan Snow Festival to be held on 19th March 2023 and showcase the local products in a magnificent Gift Box form and win the prize money also.
In the culmination session of HADP, the orientation/training sessions related to programmes/projects like Promotion of Niche crops like rajma, zeera etc, Integrated farming system and formation of FPO’S were conducted for participants wherein Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar Narinder Paul and Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik delivered lecture related to the projects.
Among others who participated in this training session were CAHO Kishtwar Dr Sanjay Sen, AD Fisheries Lal Hussain, District and Sectoral heads of Agriculture and allied departments along with field officers and officials.
The programme concluded with the Vote of thanks presented by CAO Kishtwar.He extended the gratitude to District Administration Kishtwar for overwhelming support and all the allied departments who have participated throughout the month-long training sessions organized by Agriculture Department.
He informed that in toto, 29 approved projects under Holistic Agriculture Development Plan besides formulation of 13 FPOs were discussed and deliberated in detail in the entire month with their aims and objectives.
