Nanjing University Hosts 7th Alumni Congress

On April 27, the 7th Alumni Representative Conference of Nanjing University was held at Xianlin Campus. Nearly 200 alumni representatives from home and abroad gathered at their alma mater to reaffirm friendship and discuss development. Tan Zhemin, president of Nanjing University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the conference. At the meeting, Tan Zhemin and Zou Yajun presented awards to the collective and individual winners of the “Nanjing University Outstanding Alumni Organization” and “Nanjing University Outstanding Alumni Workers” respectively. Zou Yajun delivered a work report of the sixth session of the Board of Directors entitled “Standing integrity and innovating hand in hand to advance the high-quality development of alumni work.”

The report comprehensively reviewed the work of the sixth council of the Nanjing University Alumni Association from six aspects: strengthening party building leadership, promoting standardized management, serving the central work of the school, innovating the alumni liaison service system, creating a new alumni economic model, and promoting alumni culture. The conference reviewed and approved the “Articles of Association of Nanjing University Alumni Association (Amendment)” and elected the seventh council members of Nanjing University Alumni Association and the seventh supervisor of Nanjing University Alumni Association.

Subsequently, the first meeting of the seventh board of directors of the Nanjing University Alumni Association was held, and the participating directors elected the president, vice president, and executive directors of the seventh board of directors. Tan Zhemin delivered a speech as the new president of the seventh council of the Nanjing University Alumni Association.
