National energy conservation day observed

ALIGARH  : The National Energy Conservation Day drew wide support at the Aligarh Muslim University and several observational programmes were held at different schools and departments in AMU.

The Principal of Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, Dr Naila Rashid administered the pledge and motivated staff and students to save energy for a better tomorrow. She encouraged them to participate in energy conservation initiatives and highlighted ways to conserve electricity.

At the AMU Girls’ School, an oath taking ceremony took place to mark the day. Sharafat Ali read out the pledge.

Principal of the school, Amna Malik highlighted the importance of the day and urged students to conserve the energy at their homes and take care to turn the lights and fans off before leaving a living area.

Yshika Singh, a class X student read out the measures suggested by the university electricity department for the conservation of electricity.
