NCW Chairperson reviews working of One Stop Centre, Sahyog help desk in Katra

REASI : National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma today reviewed the working of functioning of One Stop Centre” and Sahyog help desk in Katra.

District Child protection officer (district social welfare officer) Gulshan Kumar briefed the chairperson regarding the functioning of the twin institutions working for holistically addressing the issues related to women and ensuring assistance at various levels in domestic violence, sexual abuse cases and to cater to the antisocial, malign activities including child labour, begging. He further apprised the Chairperson regarding frequent anti-begging and anti child labour drives being carry out by the department.

Chairperson Rekha Sharma appreciated the working and efforts of the department for making significant efforts towards welfare of children and women.

She further added that taking note of the fact that such a huge influx of pilgrims at Vaishno Devi, Katra makes these centres indispensable as they play a vital role in catering any unexpected and hostile conditions being faced by the women and children while being away from their home.
