Nehru Yuva Kendra Kishtwar, RDD organise cleanliness drive at Drabshalla

 

KISHTWAR : Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kishtwar, in collaboration with Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, today organised a cleanliness drive/collection of Plastic waste here at Block headquarter Drabshalla as a part of the ongoing Clean India campaign launched countrywide under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The BDC Chairman Drabshalla, Suraj Parkash; BDO Drabshalla Sobia Shad; Sarpanch Arif Hussain, Staff of RDD Drabshalla, staff of Agriculture and Health Department, volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Kishtwar namely Veena Kumari and Rihana Banoo besides scores of locals participated in the cleanliness drive.

During the cleanliness drive, people were also educated about the importance of cleanliness, ill effects of single use plastic, besides appealing to them to shun the usage of single use plastic and make their surroundings neat and clean.

Around 15 KG of waste was collected during the cleanliness drive and later handed over to NYVs of the NYK department for proper disposal.
