NEP 2020 endeavors to promote India as a global study destination providing premium education at affordable cost: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that India is hoping to promote active institutional linkage with its partner countries to set up top foreign universities campuses in India. Addressing the voice of youth global south summit on Friday, Mr Pradhan said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 endeavors to promote India as a global study destination providing premium education at affordable cost.

The Minister added that the education system in most global south countries had suffered due to colonization. He expressed confidence that the NEP will help in creating a system which is rooted in Indian ethos and aligned to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Mr Pradhan also highlighted various reforms in the education sector, including multiple entry-exit options for students, National level Student registry, Academic Bank of Credit and Skill India Digital portal. He said that through multi-modal delivery of education, the country has also democratized access to knowledge.
