New 24 bed ICU to start function in GMC soon

Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, today informed that the district has witnessed a steep decline in positivity rate dropping to 3.65 percent and solicited the cooperation of public in the fight against covid pandemic.

The DC was briefing the media persons about the current covid situation in the district.

Responding to media queries, he said there is no dearth of medical oxygen supply as a sufficient number of concentrators, oxygen cylinders are available with the health institutions and an oxygen concentrator plant of 1000 LPM capacity is functional in Government Medical College Hospital.

He further informed that a 24 bedded ICU would be made functional at GMC in two days.

Elaborating further he said another 750 LMP O2 plant would be made functional in a week, while DPRS of oxygen plant for SDH Nowshera and Thanamndi has been submitted for approval.

He further informed that the work on 1000 LPM Oxygen concentrator plant at Sunderbani will start soon.

Regarding patient care facilities in rrral areas, he said 5-bedded COVID Care Centre have been set up at Panchayat level and Rajouri is the first district to achieve this feat.

The DC asked the Public to have trust in administration as it is committed to provide the best Health care facilities to the citizens.

He further informed that the vaccination of the vulnerable and highly exposed groups in the 18-44 age group was started today and as many as 4156 doses were administered to the targeted persons.
