New Military Stories of Unimaginable Courage and Sacrifice – Chief of Indian Armed Forces

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts and Prabha Khaitan Foundation today held the book launch event of the book “India’s Most Fearless 3” written by Shiv Auroor and Rahul Singh, published by Penguin India. The chief guests at the event were chief of the three wings of armed forces namely Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhuri (Chief of Air Staff), Admiral R. Hari Kumar (Chief of Naval Staff) and General Manoj Pande (Chief of Army Staff). The guests were felicitated by Shri Pratapanand Jha, Dean, IGNCA.
“India’s Most Fearless 3” is a story of unimaginable courage and valor of Indian soldiers. This book takes readers to the battlefield, from where many of our real heroes did not return alive. The book written in the style of a report and short story, the chapters in this book inspire and motivate, increasing respect for the Indian Armed Forces. These heart-warming stories are a real tribute to the men and women of Indian Armed Forces. It gives thrill and inspiration to read these the stories. The holy land of our country has produced so many courageous and iron-willed heroes. This book gives us the vision to recognize the true heroes and tells us that our soldiers are ordinary human beings like us, they have feelings, but their courage and determination are extraordinary.
Air Chief Marshal, while speaking at the event said, “Millions are still fascinated by stories of men and women in uniform and this book includes stories from the jungle of the North East India to Line of Control to Line of Actual Control and the Arabian Sea”. He further quoted Douglas MacArthur in context to the book, “The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war”. He concluded by saying that this book is unputdownable.
Speaking at the event Admiral R. Hari Kumar said, “Ideas come and go but stories remain”. He too quoted Benjamin Franklin in relation to the book and said, “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing”. He further reiterated that the book being contemporary, the stories in the book give it a distinct advantage in connection to the youth of the nation. He also added that “As we engage with Blue Economy, the stories of the sea will reawaken the maritime field”. General Manoj Pande while addressing the august gathering said that the “The book very well encapsulates the stories of sacrifice, courage and valor of men and women in readable form. He concluded by saying USP of the book is that it is the good live account of soldiers endeavors.
