NSS Unit and ECO-Club of GDC Sidhra organized cleanliness drive implementing “Clean India Program”
New Delhi: NSS Unit and ECO-Club of GDC Sidhra organized cleanliness drive implementing “Clean India Program” under the banner of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” on 15/12/2021. The program was organized in collaboration with AYUSH Department, Bain Bajalta. Bajalta Pond located in the village adopted by the college was selected for the cleanliness drive. Dr. Himani Bhutyal from AYUSH department was one of the organizers of the program. She also distributed masks and gloves amongst the volunteers. About 40 NSS volunteers participated in this drive and cleaned the area around pond. The main motive behind this campaign was to spread awareness related to cleanliness and rejuvenation of rivers and water bodies that is one of the objectives of Clean India program. These drives are a wonderful experience for students to motivate them to contribute their bit to society and they are major role players to raise awareness on the importance of cleanliness in one’s neighborhood.
NSS Volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive with full enthusiasm. The program was organized by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Program Office and Dr. Anshu Gupta, Convener ECO Club. The program was successful with the coordination of Prof. Deepa Kak and Dr. Satbir Kour, members NSS Unit, GDC Sidhra. Principal of the college, Dr. Monika Sharma, congratulated all for the success of the event and appreciated the volunteers for their diligent efforts.
