Nukkad Natak’s organised at Bla, Kul, Gbl to raise awareness on promotion of health & nutrition
SRINAGAR : The National Health Mission (NHM), Tribal Research Institute J&K and DIPR organises Nukkad Nataks at Tribal areas of Baramulla, Kulgam and Ganderbal districts under Rashtriya Poshan Maah.
The Rashtriya Poshan Maah is being celebrated during the month of September 2021 to carry out specific activities on promotion of health and nutrition.
DIPR’s Cultural Unit Srinagar organised Nukkad Nataks at three Tribal Hamlets of Baramulla, Kulgam and Ganderbal districts today. Three teams of renowned theatre artists of the valley were deputed to Boniyar, Devsar and Kangan tribal areas to perform Nukkad Nataks aiming at to aware the Tribal population about health and nutrition.
In their Nukkad Nataks, the artists explained how to prevent and reduce stunting in children (0-6 years), prevent and reduce under nutrition (under weight prevalence) in children (0-6 years), reduce the prevalence of anemia among young children (6-59 months), reduce the prevalence of anemia among women and adolescent girls in the age group of 15-49 years and reduce Low Birth Weight (LBW).
The Tribal population applauded the artists and appreciated the impact full initiative taken by NHM J&K, Tribal Research Institute J&K and DIPR.
