On the prospects for the development of the Russian statistics system

4th year students of the Institute of Forest, Mining and Construction Sciences visited the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service in the Republic of Karelia.
In the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service in the Republic of Karelia, 4th year students of the “Pedagogical Education” direction of training (profiles of the “Geography and Economics” direction) of the Department of Geosciences and Geotechnology of the Institute of Forest, Mining and Construction Sciences of PetrSU, met with the Deputy Head of the Department of Summary Information and public relations Dmitry Yuryevich Khlupin and head of the department of population statistics, health care, living standards and household surveys Victoria Ivanovna Nezhevskaya, who presented the structure and features of the organization’s work.

The information received by the students concerned not only the methods of collecting and processing statistical data throughout the republic, but also the prospects for the development of the Russian statistics system, as well as the opportunity to participate in the All-Russian Population Census, which is planned for the fall of 2021.

The questions asked by the students concerned the peculiarities of filling and updating the organization’s website, the specifics of the work and remuneration of the census takers.
