One-day agriculture Exhibition–cum-Kisan Mela held at Sangaldan
Sangaldan: Agriculture Department, Ramban organized a one-day Exhibition-cum-Kissan Mela at Sangaldan , Gool, to spread awareness among the farmers about various welfare schemes and innovate farming techniques, under ATMA.
Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan was the Chief Guest who formally inaugurated the Mela.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Farooq Ahmed Bhat; District Agriculture Officer, Dr. Ahwani Sharma; AEO, KK Koul; Naib Tehsildar, Sangaldan, various officers and officials from allied departments besides PRIs attended the Mela.
During the interaction session resource persons sensitized the farmers about the benefits of various schemes including Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Soil Health Cards, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana, Organic Farming, Mushroom and Vegetable cultivation.
They also imparted technical know-how about drip and sprinkling -irrigation besides apiculture, mushroom and vegetable farming.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson asked the officers to promote apiculture, mushroom and vegetable farming in the area by providing technical help and benefits of welfare schemes to the farmers.
While appreciating the department for organizing Kisan-Mela, the DDC Chairperson asked the CAO to organize more such informative camps at panchyat level across the district.
She also urged the farmers to adopt apiculture, mushroom and vegetable farming which have potential to improve their socio-economic conditions.
In his address, the CAO informed that District Administration has formulated a comprehensive plan to promote farming of potential crops including apiculture, Rajma, Anardana and olive oil root stock to achieve the target of doubling the farmers’ income.
Later, the DDC chairperson also distributed soil health cards amongst farmers under soil testing projects.
