Online Poetry Competition held at the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh: Neha Singh, Ufuq Haya and Lata Sharan, who won the first, second and third prizes respectively in an online poetry competition held at the Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on the eve of Sir Syed Day recited poems depicting all facets of campus life on uncommon emotional range, guided by a subtle, incisive intellect that travels through feelings of joy.

“It is heartening to see that despite the pandemic restrictions, which is keeping all creative souls confined indoors; an outpour of feelings and emotions was shown by aspiring young poetry enthusiasts,” said Prof Naima Khatoon, Principal, Women’s College.

She motivated the students to continue with their efforts in creative writing.

Professor Vibha Sharma, Department of English judged the event, while Dr Sadaf Fareed, English Department, Women’s College convened the virtual programme.
